Hello, I'm looking to batch convert a large number of PSX.bin/.cue files into.pbp in order to save precious hard drive space. I'm aware of being able to do so using PSX2PSP 1.4.2's batch mode, but at a pretty big cost. It only seems to be able to batch convert into folders named after the game ID (SLUS#####), and the file is titled eboot.pbp.

Does anyone have any good methods of doing this so that the resulting.pbp filenames retain their game titles and don't get sorted into subfolders? Sorry if this seems like I'm asking too much. Thank you!. I'll try to get you instructions on it.I changed gears and did batch conversion and hit a road block using psx2psp v1.3. It seems to always get the game I'd correct but the game title gets screwed up from time to time and you'll get duplicates of some games, sadly this appears to be a problem with how psx2psp reads the database because it happens outside of batch mode as well. This is unacceptable so it's looking like one by one and verify game title is the best option.

I also found I like psx2psp a little more because it puts the name in icon0 if you select the default for it.I think I'm going to hold off on this conversion for now and focus on getting my dreamcast gdi's converted to chd's and approach the pbp's after I do a lot more research on why batch might be screwing up. I am currently in the same boat as you and I have found a couple solutions.First one is using psx2psp v1.3. With v1.3 batch will put the eboot into folders with the game title and (SLUS#####) at the end. I'm not a big fan of that even though it would save some time, the game title doesn't match redumps naming convention for some games and I want to keep that without having to do a lot of work after the conversion. The other option and the one I am currently using is simple popstation gui 3.0 beta. With simple popstation gui you can drag and drop the bin (or cue!) Into the box and it has the benefit of having a option to retain the original file name. The compression/losslessness is exactly the same as psx2psp and it also gives a nice default art theme, incase you ever put it into a psp or emulators/frontends ever support it.

You can turn that off to save a tiny bit more space. I read something about batch in the change log but I can't figure out how to use it.Either option you will want to use a program like bulk rename utility to change the names from eboot.pbp to foldersname.pbp. Then you can just do a search for.pbp files and cut and paste into a single Sony Playstation folder and delete the empty folders/toc files.Don't forget you need to merge any multi bin games to single bin/cue. I found a fast easy way of doing this that doesn't require mounting them with a virtual drive, tell me if you want to know how.Edit: Oh, I forgot to tell you don't use batch in psx2psp v1.4.2. If you have a lot of multi disc games it will overwrite every disc with the next one because they all share the same game I'd. V1.3 is safe because it names the folders with disc1of4, disc2of4, etc at the end of the title.
