Much of this duality characterizes who I have grown to be. Although I am an introvert who cherishes a good read and the warmth of my favorite blanket, my career interests veer toward languages and cultures of international proportions. From middle. Earlier this month I took a quiz on Buzzfeed titled “This Soothing Quiz Will Tell You Which Tea You Are.” I am not particularly fond of tea, having grown up with a stereotypical Cuban affinity for coffee, but I wondered what this quiz could tell me about myself.

I thought for sure that my answers to a couple of questions couldn’t reveal much about my personality. However, Buzzfeed surprised me. Turns out that I’m hibiscus tea. Here’s Buzzfeed’s reasoning:“You’re a.lot. But that’s not a bad thing! You’re unafraid to take up space and make your voice heard. You love being the center of.

Whenever I am asked where I am from, I usually start by describing my ancestors’ various migrations from Ireland and Lithuania to South Africa and North America. I then elaborate on my immediate family, a household with four different accents, an Irish-Catholic American mother and a Jewish South African father. However, because my distinct British accent is generally the reason the person asks in the first place and to give them some peace of mind, I end with, “I am from London.” I have always loved my complex background, spending countless evenings making pasta with my Italian step-grandpa.
