Cs 1.6 Cracked Surf Server

81

Today I was invited to a csgo tournament match by some dude who added me yesterday. I was skeptical at first, judging by the fact that I have no clue who this guy is, and never played with him. But I decide to give him a chance and join his server.

Cs source servers

Halfway through joining the server a bunch of downloads start. This makes me feel uneasy so I force quit csgo, and run Malware Bytes.

Over a thousand infected files, almost all of them are hijacking rats. I run Malware Bytes every day, so I know it has to be this guy's server.

I searched the internet and the only thing similar to this is this:Which is about css. Somehow this dude was able to recreate that in csgo.Luckily I was able to get out(afaik) without getting hijacked, but people need to be aware of this.

Be careful who you join games with, and if it loads a server instantly quit out and run your antivirus, and you should probably report and unadd that guy too. Working purely off of memory: There was an exploit in Source that allowed the sending of files with any extension to client/server. When a user joins a source server they usually download custom files from the server. In GMod this includes.lua scripts. I THINK a lua script was used to create the.dll file on the client after downloading it from an arbitrary internet source.Instead of being malicious the code did the following:Spreading: It may have intentionally crashed the game to get the user to join a new server. When that happened it attempted to exploit a vulnerability that allowed the client to download files it shouldn't. Specifically server.cfg which, unfortunately, many server hosts stored their RCON password in.

If it retrieved the file it searched for the password and, if found, would upload the.dll. This process basically infected anyone who joined the server and those players would go onto new servers and repeat the process.Noticeable effects: Users who were infected would randomly type ' cough' and in server and steam chat as well as have their steam name changed to 'VINH'LL FIX IT'. This virus could likely have performed arbitrary code execution, which is very very bad. Instead it stopped here. The news spread and it was patched by Gary within the day and the fix sent to Valve so they could apply the fix across other branches of Source.

That's true but if you want to be.98% certain you won't get any virus from csgo, use only known servers (brutalcs, fragshack etc).99% certain you won't get any virus from csgo, don't load maps form server.100% certain you won't get any virus from csgo, play only on offline mode.or then use linux, let csgo only use certain folders, don't let anything except csgo binary to execute on those folders and in most optimal case run it as another user which has very minimal permissions to anything and on that user block anything that tries to listen/send data on ports csgo wouldn't use. Then you can practically be 100% sure they wont get to your glorious system since most likely all viruses that are being shared from csgo servers are viruses for windows.

Csgo surf server setupthis project is intended for personal use, so my personal server settings are included. Also, I have never setup a srcds server before, so it's likely i've done things incorrectly.if you run into problems, I took some notes on setting up a local surf server manually on Ubuntu 14.10.includes:.
