This advanced program provides the classroom teacher with an in-depth preparation in literacy, reading assessments, and diagnosis of reading problems. Successful completion of this curriculum and the state examination are required for recommendation to the State of Ohio for the K-12 Reading Endorsement, which is added to a current teaching license. The endorsement also fulfills the requirements of Ohio’s Third Grade Reading Guarantee.Under new state regulations, a minimum of 15 credits is required for the K-12 Reading Endorsement. In addition to JCU’s 12 graduate credits, three credits may be applied from previous reading coursework at either the undergraduate or graduate level to meet the 15-credit-hour requirement.Prerequisites:. a current teaching license/certificate.

Classes will be taught in Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, and Conditioning. Students will be engaged, challenged, and have the opportunity to thrive in a supportive atmosphere with professional instruction.

The one-week baseball camp is specifically designed for the younger campers from ALL AROUND THE WORLD. Join Belgian Team “The Merchtem Cats” junior team, along with John Carroll’s Varsity Baseball Coach and program staff. You will learn fundamentals while competing and training with players from all over the world.

Morning drills will focus on playing the game the right way and each day will end with a competitive game where campers will be able to show off what they have learned. Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. And includes lunch. Best camper-to-coach ratio (7 to 1) in the area over the last three years. Each camper will receive focused instruction from qualified coaches. Each camper will receive an Individual Report Card with a Workout Plan detailing how to practice for continued improvement. Every morning begins with camp-wide ball handling drills to help players improve one of the most under-practiced, yet most necessary skills in the game. Campers will be able to use these drills to improve on their own even after they leave camp.

Individual instruction is also available during the late pick-up period. Puckett’s Field Hockey Camp enters its 23rd summer of providing a positive Camp experience to beginners and advanced players.

Program

This Camp will focus on all facets of the game through drills, scrimmage and tournament play. The staff includes high school, college and club coaches as well as college players. Camp instruction is divided by elementary, Middle and high school levels. Players can be placed according to experience and/or grade. Debbie Umbarger will head coach the elementary campers, Alice Puckett the Middle school Campers and Megan Grant (Syracuse University) the high school campers.

Goalkeepers will receive specific goalkeeping instruction during the week. Lunch is included. The Patriot Football Camp will teach skills and drills designed for beginners through advanced players. We will teach position specific techniques, along with safe blocking and tackling.

7 on 7 games will be played each day, in addition to fun combine style events designed for all ages. The Patriot coaching staff will be leading instruction with assistance from college level players. This camp is a great opportunity to learn football fundamentals and have an enjoyable experience. Lunch is included.

Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. Pickleball is a sport played with a paddle, a low net and a plastic ball similar to a whiffle ball. The game contains elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. It is played as singles (one person per side) or more often doubles (two people on each side) on a badminton-sized court with each team only scoring points when they serve. Because of the smaller court, playing pickleball allows you to work on your balance, agility, reflexes, and hand-eye coordination without putting excessive strains on your body.

The Patriot Soccer Coed Camps provide the opportunity for young players, from beginners to experienced players, to develop their individual skills in a fun, engaging, and competitive atmosphere. The camps focus on key elements of the game including: ball control and dribbling, attacking and defending in 1v1, 2v1, 2v2 situations, passing and movement off the ball, finishing, and possession, all within age specific curriculums. The camp will focus on key elements of the game including; Ball control and dribbling, Attacking and defending in 1v1 2v1, 2v2 and other situations, Passing and movement off the ball, Finishing, Group tactics and possession, Age specific curriculum, Specialized goalkeeping instruction. The Elite Camp is designed for incoming and current high school students who are series about playing soccer at the Varsity levels and beyond. This camp will include intense training and prepare the player for their high school preseason and tryouts.

Players should bring cleats, sneakers, shin guards, water and a soccer ball. Camp will provide instruction on learning the basic fundamentals of playing fast pitch softball. The focus will be on offensive and defensive skills such as hitting, throwing, fielding and base running.
